We have an exciting opportunity for a Functional Skills
Tutor to join our winning team. Using your passion for learning and development
you will deliver innovative teaching and learning to our learners to progress
them through their qualification. You will guide and coach your learners whilst
encouraging them to complete their planned learning and development tasks
throughout their learning journey to successfully achieve their qualifications.
Further to the above, you will work with the Learning
Support Manager to support the national delivery of functional skills.

and skills required:
Strong experience of teaching Functional Skills in
a college or training environment
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Track record of building relationships, coaching
and developing others to achieve success
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and the
highest level of integrity
A high level of personal drive and the ability
to meet challenges in a positive way
Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own
workload and flexibility to travel to meet the needs of the business
Knowledge of awarding body requirements for
functional skills assessment, both online and paper based exams
Knowledge of the role functional skills plays in
the apprenticeship standards
Excellent IT skills, including the use of MS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Energetic and positive with the skills to
Behaviours and qualifications required:
of Level 2 qualification in Maths & English
Teaching qualification – AiET, CiET, DiET, Cert
Ed or PGCE or achievement of this within two years of appointment
The ability to work both in a team and
Friendly and approachable
Clean driving licence and access to a car
insured for business use
