Who is the apprenticeship for?

If you’re moving up into a senior management role, or are already in a senior management role and want to be recognised formally for your leadership skills and expertise, this qualification can help you get there.

This apprenticeship programme has been designed by the Institute of Leadership and Management, the UK’s largest management development organisation and setting the standards for international leadership and management expertise. Every employee undertaking an ILM apprenticeship with us will receive a free ILM membership for the duration of their training.

What will you learn?

As a senior manager you are responsible for everything from creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, and leading and managing teams, to managing change, financial and resource management. You may also be responsible for talent management, coaching and mentoring. You are accountable for a lot, but with a Level 5 Leadership apprenticeship we can help you learn the theories, practices and methods to ensure you deliver results for your business to the best of your ability.

How will you learn?

Our Personal Tutors will deliver high-quality face-to-face learning and coaching and provide all the resources you will need to progress quickly. Our intuitive learner management system ‘Bud’ will really bring the subject to life through interactive learning tools, access to complementary online resources and relevant social communities, as well as provide real-time information so that you will always know where you’re at in your learner journey.

FAQs

Do I have to find a job first?

If you’re not currently employed or looking for a new job, you can apply for apprenticeship vacancies advertised by employers looking to employ an apprentice, as you must be employed to undertake an apprenticeship.

If you already have a job and wish to gain a qualification in that industry as an apprentice, this is possible subject to your employer’s agreement.

Will it cost me anything?

No. Your employer pays your wage and we apply for government funding from the Education and Skills Funding Agency to support the cost of your qualification.
Currently 100% funding is available for apprentices ages 16 – 18 and 90% for those aged 19 + (subject to the employers levy status).

Can I undertake an Apprenticeship with my current employer?

The learning journey

My ambition is to have a role in management so when my boss supported my request to do an NVQ in Team Leading, as part of an apprenticeship with Paragon Skills, I was determined to make the most of it. I picked units that were out of my comfort zone and now I have new responsibilities from my employer. I’m now doing my second qualification with Paragon and I’m looking forward to furthering myself in my career.
