Who is the apprenticeship for?

As an Adult Care Leader, you will be essential to the smooth running across a variety of care settings. This qualification is for those of you who are currently in a deputy role and are looking to move into higher management, or for a Registered Manager who is looking to gain a relevant qualification.

You will learn to be responsible for creating a supportive culture that values initiative and innovation and recognises the variety of skills of all team members within the service. You will ensure that the policies and procedures required to ensure the well-being and quality of life of the service users are followed and the values of your business are adopted by all team members.

What will you learn?

Whichever route you take, if you have the right attitude, you can go far in this industry.

As a Leader in Adult Care, you will learn how to guide and inspire your team to make a positive difference each service users’ life whether they are faced with physical, practical, social, emotional, psychological or intellectual challenges. You will lead your care team and will develop and implement a values-based culture at a service or unit level. Depending on the setting you may also be responsible for business development, financial control, organisational resilience and continuity as well as for managing risk and leading on organisational change.

How will you learn?

Our Personal Tutors will deliver high-quality face-to-face learning and coaching and provide all the resources you will need to progress quickly. Our intuitive learner management system ‘Bud’ will really bring the subject to life through interactive learning tools, access to complementary online resources and relevant social communities, as well as provide real-time information so that you will always know where you’re at in your learner journey.

Do I have to find a job first?

If you’re not currently employed or looking for a new job, you can apply for apprenticeship vacancies advertised by employers looking to employ an apprentice, as you must be employed to undertake an apprenticeship.

If you already have a job and wish to gain a qualification in that industry as an apprentice, this is possible subject to your employer’s agreement.

Will it cost me anything?

No. Your employer pays your wage and we apply for government funding from the Education and Skills Funding Agency to support the cost of your qualification.
Currently 100% funding is available for apprentices ages 16 – 18 and 90% for those aged 19 + (subject to the employers levy status).

Can I undertake an Apprenticeship with my current employer?
