Who is the apprenticeship for?

Experience is vital in the beauty industry, and an apprenticeship can help you gain experience and the qualifications to match. You can choose to specialise in make-up, spa therapy and massage, or other beauty treatments such as nails, waxing, and spray tanning.

Personal attributes that suit those starting a career in beauty therapy include first-class communication skills, an eye for detail, the ability to use people skills to make customers feel comfortable and relaxed, whether fulfilling reception duties or assisting with technical beauty services.

What will you learn?

You will develop your technical skills and creativity as well as broadening your understanding of specific treatments and techniques. Gain direct hands-on experience to be confident to provide and promote a range of therapeutic facial and body care services.

How will you learn?

Our Personal Tutors will deliver high-quality face-to-face learning and coaching and provide all the resources you will need to progress quickly. Our intuitive learner management system ‘Bud’ will really bring the subject to life through interactive learning tools, access to complementary online resources and relevant social communities, as well as provide real-time information so that you will always know where you’re at in your learner journey.

Your pathway to success

Once you have completed your Beauty Therapy Intermediate Level 2 apprenticeship, you could progress within your role, seek out employment as a Junior Beauty Therapist it is a versatile role. It offers many opportunities to work in a variety of locations such as spas, hotels, hospitals, care homes, cruise ships, holiday resorts and health clubs.

FAQs

Do I have to find a job first?

If you’re not currently employed or looking for a new job, you can apply for apprenticeship vacancies advertised by employers looking to employ an apprentice, as you must be employed to undertake an apprenticeship.

If you already have a job and wish to gain a qualification in that industry as an apprentice, this is possible subject to your employer’s agreement.

Will it cost me anything?

No. Your employer pays your wage and we apply for government funding from the Education and Skills Funding Agency to support the cost of your qualification.
Currently 100% funding is available for apprentices ages 16 – 18 and 90% for those aged 19 + (subject to the employers levy status).

Can I undertake an Apprenticeship with my current employer?
