This apprenticeship is ideal for any of your employees working in financial or accountancy roles whether within a dedicated accountancy practice or part of a team within an organisation that operates outside of the financial sector.

These employees assist in day-to-day financial activities such as data entry, month-end management accounts or year-end financial statements. An Assistant Accountant may also get involved in financial regulatory requirements.

This apprenticeship is suitable for your employees that are ready for their next challenge and are looking to progress to further study in accountancy and finance.

Learner Roadmap – Assistant Accountant Level 3

Your employees learning journey with us will be as follows:
Month 1 – Introduction to programme & AAT diploma
Month 2 to 3 – Bookkeeping transactions & controls
Month 4 – Business awareness
Month 5 – Advanced bookkeeping
Month 6 – Final accounts & ethical standards
Month 7 – Time management & communication
Month 8 – Indirect tax
Month 9 – Management accounting
Month 10 to 11 – Problem solving & personal accountability
Month 12 – Team working & collaboration
Month 13 to 14 – EPA exam preparation

How will you learn?

Your employees will have their own Personal Tutor who will meet with the employee via remote 1 to 1 sessions, at your place of work or at our academy where appropriate. The Personal Tutor will be available throughout the course to teach, monitor progress and prepare learners for their end-point assessment (EPA). Our Personal Tutor approach to training is flexible, allowing us to work with the learner in the way that is most suitable for them.

  • Class sessions: These are online group sessions via Microsoft Teams for four hours every week, except for exam weeks and the first week of every month.
  • 1 to 1 sessions: These sessions can take place either via remote or face-to-face sessions dependant on your place of work, style of working & schedule.
  • Self-study: Learners are expected to carry out self-study using Paragon Skills’ social learning platform, Bud.
  • Contact: Learners have access to their Personal Tutors via email, learner portal, telephone and Bud.
