I am getting good at reflection. In order to allow myself the necessary time to focus on this apprenticeship, I have to be very organised, prioritise my workload effectively and I block out time in my calendar to concentrate on it. I am getting really good at reflecting and using my learning with colleagues or team members. I am also the Safeguarding champion at work which helped when working on all aspects of Safeguarding in my apprenticeship.
Sara’s thoughts on the apprenticeship so far
My Personal Tutor, Yolande, is very knowledgeable and approachable, and she encourages me to complete my work to a high standard. All the staff I have worked with at Paragon Skills have been great and encouraging. The workshop sessions I have been attending have also been really helpful for my progression.
I have had amazing support from the L&OD team at Optivo, and my line manager whilst completing my apprenticeship. I receive excellent feedback from Charlene in our L&OD team on a regular basis which is really encouraging. My line manager has been really supportive and truly is ‘one of life’s brilliant managers’. By doing this apprenticeship I know it will provide me with additional tools to be the best manager I can be. I am working really hard to hopefully gain a distinction.
