Guy Fletcher at Picadors Vauxhall

A career with the Formula 1 Lotus racing team is the dream of 19-year-old Guy Fletcher.

Guy is working full time with Picadors Vauxhall garage in Southampton having completed a level 2 and level 3 NVQ with Paragon Skills.

Guy began his training as a young apprentice at the age of 14 and has worked his way up. He spends all his spare time doing work experience with the Lotus racing team and has spent time working on the racing cars.

He said: “I now have a full time job with Vauxhall in Southampton which is great but I have been up north to some work experience with Lotus a few times now. What I really want to do is work full time with Lotus, so I am doing work experience with them as much as I can. I am hoping they will offer me a job.

“The apprenticeship with Paragon Skills has given me the skills I needed for this industry and starting as a young apprentice gave me something to focus on other than school.”
