Suzanne Fry at Hair Boutique

Suzanne is over the moon to have had the opportunity to train as a hairdresser as an adult learner.

Suzanne works at Hair Boutique in Weymouth, which she co-owns with her daughter. Her daughter helped her with the training in the salon when she passed her hairdressing level 2 qualification. She is now working towards her level 3 qualification in hairdressing.

Suzanne is so keen on her career that she has also completed advanced training with L’Oreal in Bournemouth and she recently won a hairdressing competition with Paragon Skills.

She said: “I came from a family of hairdressers and did a bit of hairdressing back in the 1980s but I wasn’t trained then.

“I can’t thank Paragon Skills enough for giving me the opportunity to take this up as I have found that generally there is not enough scope for older people to train in a new career.

“My assessor at Paragon Skills was excellent and saw my potential, giving me all the support and assistance I needed to get me through the course.

“I am so pleased with my new found career skills and absolutely love it.”
