Stacey Glenn at Sunbeams Nursery
Stacey Glenn is a mature learner who decided to have a career change and re-train to become a Nursery Assistant.
Stacey, who finished her NVQ Level 2 in May 2008, says: “The support that I have had from Paragon Skills has been really good. The NVQ Level 2 in Childcare provides invaluable on-the-job training as well as theory and course work. I have really enjoyed working at Sunbeams Nursery, I have learnt about following all the proper procedures and how to provide top quality childcare. Once I have passed my Level 2, I will definitely go back to Paragon Skills to help me to progress on to the next level.”
Paragon Skills NVQ Level 2 in Childcare provides the underpinning knowledge that is needed to work on a day-to-day basis in a nursery. The course gives learners the necessary skills to understand policy and procedures, deal with parents and have a good understanding of child development and learning.
Care Divisional Director Carolyn Murphy comments: “We have a really high success and achievement rate through our apprenticeships in childcare. The courses provide a solid stepping stone to a future career in childcare.”
Train to Gain is a Skills Brokerage service, managed and funded by the Learning and Skills Council, that helps employers find the training they need for their employees.
