Paragon Skills offers the route to employment after completing GCSEs with specialist industry related qualifications and traning.

With university places becoming limited, fees soaring and more young people chosing not to take that option, then taking an apprenticeship is a smart alternative choice, which pays.

By enrolling on an apprenticeship course, young people (aged between 16 and 24) can train in the career of their choice and get a job, earning money, at the same time. They will gain invaluable experience which will arm them with the skills to climb the career ladder.

Paragon Skills offers apprenticeships in sectors including: beauty therapy and nail services, business administration, care, childcare, customer services, distribution and warehousing, engineering and technology, hairdressing, hospitality and catering, marine, motor vehicle and retail.

Josh Davis, is a business administration apprentice who has secured a job with Paragon Skills. Josh is working on his National Vocational Qualification for IT users (ITQ) level 3 diploma, already having completed his ITQ level 2, with Paragon Skills.

Following a tough decision about the direction of his career, Josh approached his local Connexions who then put him in touch with Paragon Skills.

Josh is now the lead person for the company’s intranet site, he is also the first port of call for IT problems across the organisation and he carries out routine IT checks, travelling to different offices within the group.

He said: “I love my job here. It is a great business and no two days are the same for me. I have been given a lot of responsibility and I am trusted to do my job. Paragon is a great company to work for, people here are friendly and it is a nice working environment.”
