Year 9 has always been a significant year at school because it is the year you decide what GCSE subjects you wish to take. However, there are now a number of other options available for you to think about.

Young Apprenticeship Programme

The Young Apprenticeship programme has been developed so that able and well-motivated pupils can gain experience of real work and gain vocational skills through extended work placements, whilst underpinning their knowledge with practical lessons.

Paragon Skills, in partnership with a number of schools and employers, has been delivering Young Apprenticeships since they were first introduced and offers opportunities to bright 14-15 year olds who may be interested in careers such as:

• Engineering
• Marine Engineering
• Motor Engineering
• Retail
• Hospitality
