Abrasive Wheels Replacement (Health and Safety) NVQ
Employers are legally responsible for the health and safety of their employees. Abrasive wheels are potentially very dangerous. The course will assist employers in fulfilling their responsibility for providing instruction in the use of abrasive wheels and associated equipment, as required by the “Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998” (PUWER) and the “Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992”.
Who will benefit:
Any persons mounting or truing abrasive wheels in the course of their work, and those whose duties include the supervision and management of these activities
Entry requirements:
None
Course Aims:
- To provide effective training in the correct and safe method of mounting, truing, balancing and guarding of abrasive wheels.
- To provide information on the legal requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 as it applies to the use of abrasive wheels specifically.
On successful completion, participants should be able to:
- Safely mount and balance abrasive wheels
- Maintain and adjust guards and tool rests
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Safety legislation applicable to abrasive wheels
Progression:
Successful participants will be awarded a Paragon and ITE Certificate of Training.
Duration:
1 day
Courses are subject to minimum number participation. Bespoke training is available in all courses subject to agreement
