The role of the Internal Verifier is essential as the Internal Verifier ensures that the assessments carried out by others meet the agreed national standards and requirements of the Awarding Bodies

Who will benefit:

This qualification is for those involved or wishing to be involved in supporting assessors and monitoring their performance, or ensuring that the quality assurance requirements of Awarding Bodies are met.

Entry requirements:

All internal verifiers will have sufficient experience of having conducted assessments of the specific national standards they are verifying or in an appropriate and related occupational area i.e.

  • Having been an assessor for the standards being assessed, or for a set of standards in a related occupational area for at least one year within the last two years;

And having demonstrated updating within the last year for at least two of the following activities:

  • Attending Awarding Body verification training courses
  • Studying for learning and development units
  • Study relating to job role
  • Collaborative working with Awarding Body
  • Qualifications development work
  • Other appropriate occupational activity as agreed with the external verifier

Participants will also need to have responsibility for at least two NVQ Assessors and should hold the A1 (or equivalent)

Course Aims:

The V1 Award will offer participants a programme of training to enable them to take responsibility for the internal verification and assessment process within an assessment centre, which has been approved by an Awarding Body

Progression:

V2 Award in Conducting External Quality Assurance of the Assessment Process

Duration:

On average 6 – 9 months

Courses are subject to minimum number participation. Bespoke training is available in all courses subject to agreement
