This award introduces the knowledge required for the prevention and deterrence of retail crime. It introduces participants to retail crime control practices and the importance of reducing crime and the risk factors relating to crime.

Entry requirements:

Participants should ideally be in employment in a retail environment.

Course Aims:

On completing this qualification, participants will understand:

• Major causes of crime in retail organisations
• The costs of crime to the retail sector and organisations
• Procedures and strategies used to prevent and reduce crime
• What to do when faced with security issues
• Methods to reduce the risks and improve retail security
