Certificate in Salon Services
The programme is delivered in the Paragon and ITE Training salons, and consists of nine units that are assessed to determine and confirm candidate progress and competence set against the national standards. Both theory and practical skills are developed, including colouring and perming as well as customer service and Health and Safety.

The course is aimed at anyone wishing to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
Entry requirements:
Participants will need to be working as a salon assistant, with good communication skills, a creative flair and a strong interest in the fashion industry.
Course Aims:
To prepare participants for a job as an assistant in a salon by introducing them to a wide range of hairdressing activities such as:
- Introduction to hairdressing services
- Personal presentation in the salon
- Reception duties
- Basic perming and colouring
- Hair industry and occupational awarenessOn completing this qualification, participants will become competent salon juniors and able to carry out basic support for stylists within the salon.
Progression:
Successful completion of the award or Unit accreditation could lead on to a Hairdressing Apprenticeship or Level 2 programme
Duration:
1 year
Courses are subject to minimum number participation. Bespoke training is available in all courses subject to agreement
Booking Information:
Start dates usually in January and September but this can be mid term depending on demand.
