Budding young petrol heads keen to get into the motor mechanic trade can now fulfil their career aspirations by taking up a motor apprenticeship with Paragon Skills for Industry.
Paragon Skills, which runs apprenticeship training in a variety of different industry sectors, and is based all over the south, south west and Midlands, is working in partnership with BCA (Berkshire College of Agriculture) near Maidenhead in Berkshire, to deliver the training.
The motor mechanic training is for young people, aged between 16 and 24 years old and will be combined with paid work at local garages. Young people will get industry standard training and get paid a wage at the same time.
Andy Butler, Motor Tutor said: “Being able to offer motor mechanic courses in Berkshire is a much needed addition to our offering from the Paragon Skills Reading office which opened recently. The course will be run from the brand new fitted out centre at BCA which will be equipped to offer full and tailor made training to the young people taking part.”
Already, Paragon Skills offers apprenticeships in health and social care, childcare, business administration, retail, hairdressing and barbering from Reading.
The facilities offered at BCA are fully equipped for learners and of the highest specification.
Angela Barker-Dench, Deputy Principal at BCA, said: “This new partnership with Paragon Skills means that we will continue to offer modern and fully equipped training facilities for the learners at the college at BCA, with Paragon Skills delivering the training with their own tutors and assessors.
“I am pleased to be able to work with Paragon Skills on this new motor mechanic partnership.”
