Seven Dorset – based Paragon Skills employees are celebrating this month after totting up 121 working years with the company between them.
All tutors, working within different areas of the company, marked their long service with the company by an all expenses paid trip to London. They spent the day visiting the House of Commons, followed by lunch in the OxO Tower and a spin on the London Eye.
The two longest serving members of staff, out of the seven, Bill Foot and Bill Spencer, who work at Paragon Skills’ Bournemouth Technology Centre, began in 1980, even before Paragon Skills was actually formed. Then, the company concentrated on motor training and was known as Auto Tech.
The oldest students trained in those early days were 19 at the time and are now nearly 52 and 59-years-old.
The other members of staff receiving the accolade include Paul Reuberson, Lead Marine Internal Verifier in Poole who began in 1992; Dave Hillyard, Motor Vehicle Operations Manager for Yeovil, who began in 1996; Chris Aldwell, Motor Tutor at Bournemouth who began in 1992; Paul Brookes, Motor Training Officer at Bournemouth who began in 1988 and Bob Legg, Lead Engineering Interval Verifier in Bournemouth who began in 1985.
Gavin Freed, Chief Executive, said: “Well done to these members of staff for accruing so many years with Paragon Skills. It is clear that down to their hard work and commitment over the years that we have developed some incredibly skilled and well qualified members of staff. They are all experts in their field of industry and have built up many contacts in their sectors.
“It is clear that Paragon Skills is able to offer the best training possible to its apprentices and provide well trained and fully qualified members of staff to the industry.”
